February has arrived and the Indoor season is well underway. The Sprints and Hurdles squad have already seen some strong performances.

Lara Pleace (U20, WSEH) ran a 60m PB in her first race of the season, smashing a 4-year-old PB. Watch out for 18-year-old Lara as she embarks on an exciting journey into multi events this season.

Jahde Williams (U23 Harrow AC) has also enjoyed a record breaking indoor season. He broke his 60m PB in every one of his 4 races, all within 1 week. Jahde made the switch to the full time group this winter, his hard work and commitment is already paying off. Watch out for Jahde over the 200m in the summer.

Another PB in his first race came from Max Schopp (U23 Harrow AC). Max opened his 400m campaign with an overall 400m PB. Watch out for Max at BUCS Championships in a few weeks and over the 400 hurdles in the summer.

Our hurdlers have also started the indoor season well. Chante Williams (U17 Bracknell) smashed her 60m hurdle PB in Loughborough on Saturday, running 8.89s. Chante is now ranked 10th in the UK and looks forward to the England U17 Championship at the end of the month.

Emily Russell (U20 Harrow AC), the latest addition to WLTF, also smashed her 60m hurdle PB in Loughborough, running 8.76s to put her 7th in the UK. Emily will compete in her first senior UK Championships before the England U20 Championships.

 

Other notable performances from ……….

Marvin Popoola, who recorded his fastest 60m time for 3 years this weekend, over in Norway.

Brunel students Reece Young (U23 B&B), Parris Johnson (U20 B&B) and Modupe Shokunbi (U23 B&B) who are all now within 0.05 of their PB. Watch out for them in the BUCS Championships in a few weeks.

Luke Sargeant (Kent AC), Matteo Okogie (U23 Cambridge Harriers) and Finlay Marriot (U20 Cambridge & Coleridge) all enjoyed their fastest ever opening to an indoor season.

James Weaver (U23 Enfield & Haringey) and Stephanie Clitheroe (WSEH) opened their season in Bratislava competing for England in the 60m hurdles.
